Powfoot Golf
Club - 17 Miles from The Granary
The course was founded in 1903 and designed
by James Braid (one of golf's original and great champions,
course designers and modernisers). This challenging links
course ranks among the very best to be found anywhere, yet
it remains utterly unspoilt and worthy of the tag 'best kept
secret’. The first nine holes present a stiff test in the
best links tradition and the final nine encompass a mixture
of parkland with whins and rough ensuring the challenge
continues to the 18th The links part of the course follows
the shoreline of the Solway Firth and presents some
breathtaking views of the North Lakes mountains and the
hills adjacent to Dumfries.
Whether you're a seasoned all-year golfer, regular society
member or casual green fee player, Powfoot Golf Club offers
friendly, relaxed hospitality to all.
